"Faith in Becoming" is painting is incredibly special to me. The title, "Faith in Becoming" for me is about trusting the process and having faith in ourselves that we will eventually find our way and make our way along our journey in the way that is meant to be. When painting this painting, prior to reaching it's final state that you see here, was an entirely different painting before that I had to wipe down and paint over after overworking it. At the time I remember feeling so defeated and frustrated with myself for messing with something that I probably should have just let be. I was kicking myself. I mourned the painting that I destroyed. And then I pushed and moved on, let go of the past and continued to work on this painting and eventually this what emerged intuitively and organically. It became exactly what is was supposed to become. This painting would have never have been had it not been for the process of what was initially "failure". As artists and as people making our way through life, this s a NECESSARY part of the process. In order to discover where we are meant to go, we have to take risks, push the limits and see what's possible. And sometimes that process involves regret, heartache and falling flat on our face realizing we messed up. But we are supposed to mess up. It's what you do with your mess up that matters. It's where you GO with it after that matters....trust the process. Trust YOUR process. Have faith in BECOMING.
